On the 12th of November, Invader posted an Instagram story, showing a new mosaic along the coast of a beach. It raised much attention due to the unknown location of the invasion. To this day, the official invasion map has still not yet been updated. However, we have been able to find out where Invader has been after the Invasion of Seoul, and that place is French Basque: Biarritz, Anglet, Bayonne (BAB). Among the 52 mosaics installed (15 November), this blog will cover the first 8 installed in Biarritz.

The Mosaics

BAB_01

Located above the headquarters of Biarritztarrak, an association based in Biarritz promoting and developing the sport of Basque pelota, BAB_01 depicts a red Space Invader holding the map of Ikurriña, the official flag of the Basque Country Autonomous Community.

BAB_02

BAB_02 is placed under the Cinéma Le Royal. It features a red Invader wearing a crown and a silver tile as an embellishment, possibly referencing the cinema's name.

BAB_03

BAB_03 is yet another red invader located at one end of the Passage Monplaisir, specifically on top of one of the signs.

BAB_04

BAB_04 depicts two Space Invaders, one red and one green. They are both wearing sunglasses, possibly referencing the color scheme of the ikurriña flag and the sunny weather in Bayonne.

BAB_05

BAB_05 is the first of a series of mosaics referencing surfing. This one depicts a red Invader and a checkered surfing board with a sun in the background.

BAB_06

Located behind the Hôtel du Palais Biarritz, precisely under the ledge of the walkway, BAB_06 portrays a blue seahorse staring toward the shore. This mosaic can be found by walking down the stairs to the Playa De Biarritz.

BAB_07

BAB_07 is placed close to the previous mosaic and is also under the ledge of a walkway near the Hôtel du Palais Biarritz, depicting a blue Space Invader next to a beach ball and an umbrella.

BAB_08

Referencing from the past mosaic PA_1522, BAB_08 is a colored version of that mosaic. This mosaic shows that Invader is doubling down on his support of Captain Paul Watson. This mosaic is located on the side of a building next to the Plage Miramar.
