October 2024: A Full Documentation of What Invader Has Done

In October, Invader has done a lot. From mosaic installations, to book giveaways, to exhibitions, it has been a busy month for the artist. Let’s look back at what Invader has done in the past month.

Invasion of Paris

In early October, Invader placed two mosaics, PA_1523 and PA_1524 respectively in Paris. PA_1523 depicts a yellow round-shaped squinting face laughing with his eyes closed, possibly inspired by emojis. PA_1524, on the other hand, is in monochrome, depicting one of Invader’s original characters in the center.

Book Giveaway

The book, Invader: In Conversation with Hans Ulrich Obrist, published by HENI, was once announced in mid-October as a giveaway reward. Invader signed 5 books to giveaway, and to enter the giveaway all you had to do was to take a photo of the book with an interesting reflection on the cover. The results were not announced publicly after the end of the competition on the 28th of October.

MUCA Group Show

The Icons of Urban Art Exhibition features ten internationally recognized street artists, including Banksy, Jaws, and of course, Invader. The exhibition showcased works from MUCA's permanent collections. From early October 2024 to early February 2025, the exhibition displays over 72 carefully selected pieces. Though Invader is not directly participating in the preparation process, he flew to Seoul to visit.

Invasion of Seoul

Finally, in late October, Invader placed 14 mosaics in the capital of South Korea, Seoul. All 14 mosaics have some kind of aspects of South Korea involved, whether it is the color scheme of the flag, or the culture and beliefs, it is seen that Invader thoroughly did his research. Currently, it is unsure whether he is planning to continue his invasion or return to his hometown.
